Iran to unveil nuclear accomplishments

Iran's Atomic Energy Organization is set to stage an exhibition of the country's nuclear industry achievements at Tehran University.

Spokesman for Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (AEO) Mohsen Delaviz announced that the exhibition is to open at Tehran University on Monday.

The event, open only to students and scholars, would first be held in universities in the capital of Tehran and then in other universities nationwide, Delaviz told IRNA on Sunday.

The exhibition would be the first attempt by the country to publicize its nuclear achievements.

The United States, Israel and their European allies allege that Iran, a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), has plans 'to build a nuclear weapon'.

Iran denies the claim, insisting that the country's nuclear activities are solely directed at the civilian applications of the technology.

The UN nuclear watchdog in its latest report on Wednesday confirmed that the agency 'has been able to continue to verify the non-diversion of declared nuclear material in Iran'.

The report also declared that there has been 'no indication' of Iran conducting nuclear reprocessing activities.

Iran says under the NPT, it is entitled to use nuclear technology for civilian purposes, adding that it will continue its nuclear development.

The AEO official said the exhibition is intended to encourage Iranian experts to further develop the nuclear technology. PressTV
