Ahmadinejad: any aggression against Iran to receive crushing response
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Wednesday that any act of aggression against Iran will receive a crushing response, Iran's Press TV reported.
Addressing a crowd in the northern city of Sari in Mazandaran Province, Ahmadinejad cautioned the enemies of Iran to avoid usingthe language of force against Iran, the report said.
"Whoever talks with the great people of Iran with the language of force or in a rude, selfish and impolite tone would receive a clear response from Iranian nation," he was quoted by the of ficialIRNA news agency as saying.
"Superficial changes in governments and administrations will have no effect on us," Ahmadinejad said, referring implicitly to the recent results of U.S. presidential election.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hassan Qashqavi said on Monday that Iran does not expect much change in U.S. policies.
Addressing his first press conference since victory in Nov. 4 election, U.S. President-elect Barack Obama said in Chicago on Friday that Iran's development of nuclear weapon is "unacceptable."
The United States and its allies have accused Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons under the cover of a civilian nuclear program. Iran denies the charges and insists that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. xinhuanet
