2 Israelis Killed in Palestinian Attack

JERUSALEM - The Israeli army says Palestinian militants crossed into southern Israel and killed two Israeli civilians before fleeing back to the Gaza Strip.

The army says at least four people carried out the attack. Israeli media say the army chased the attackers into Gaza and killed one of them.

Two Palestinian militant groups, Islamic Jihad and the Popular Resistance Committees, are claiming responsibility for the attack.

JERUSALEM (AP) - Israeli medical officials say two Palestinian militants have crossed the border from the Gaza Strip and critically wounded two Israelis.

Israel Radio reports a heavy exchange of fire in the area, and a Palestinian worker at a border terminal says Israeli tanks were seen crossing into Gaza. Link
