Israeli troops kill Palestinian kid

Israeli troops have shot dead a 10-year-old Palestinian boy and wounded two other minors in the central Gaza town of Deir el-Balah.

"A child, Tamer Abu Shaar, 10, was wounded in the head by a bullet fired by the Israeli army during an incursion into the Abu al-Ajeen area, east of Deir al-Balah," Doctor Muawiya Hassanein, head of Gaza emergency services, told AFP on Tuesday.

Earlier Tuesday, Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian activist in the northern Gaza Strip, medics and the army said.

At least 6,148 people -- the vast majority of them Palestinians -- have been killed since the beginning of the second Palestinian uprising in 2000, according to an AFP count. Press TV
