Iran: US arms deal fruitless

Iran has described the US efforts to sell billions of dollars of weapons to regional countries as 'fruitless' and 'opportunistic'.

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said the US aims to save the country's arms industries from bankruptcy.

The White House officials, some of whom are the stockholders of big arms companies, are seeking to create a negative political climate in the Middle East so that they can make huge profits, he added.

Mottaki said that such policies will not undermine the ties between the regional nations reiterating that the Middle East problems solely stem from the US support of Israel's warmongering. Press TV
