FBI Agent Says Hamas Ties to Charity on Witness Stand, Meanwhile Terrorist Israel Free to Beg from U.S. Citizens

An FBI agent told jurors this week that several people the Holy Land Foundation relied on to help raise money to send to Palestinian charity committees were Hamas activists.

"Known Hamas," Special Agent Robert Miranda repeated as he and prosecutor Nathan Garrett listed men whom the former Richardson charity flew to the U.S. to headline often fiery fundraisers. Holy Land also featured the speakers on conference calls reaching up to 60 Islamic centers at a time.

Agent Miranda also pointed to some of the defendants' family ties to Hamas leaders – including the top two political bureau chiefs – as evidence that they supported the militant group's goals.
